Facebook patented feature Geolocation


Although up including too late to provide the Geolocation feature into its social networking service, but it turns up even more before getting a patent for check-in for users of social networking.
As quoted by the technology site TechCrunch, a recent U.S. patent agency approves the application for patent up titled "System and method for determining the location for members of web-based social networking."
This patent covers methods of sharing the location specified by using the 'GPS identifier' status updates and combines made in the location of the relevant members of social networking.
This is of course great implications for social networks such as geo-mobile Foursquare, Gowalla, or even Google has Google Latitude. That is, up just got the patent is used on the main features and Gowalla Foursquare.
With the existence of these patents, Foursquare, Gowalla and Google, now no longer able to sell short up to provide service up Places. Because, Facebook now has a new bullet in the face of their competitors.
