2020, China Prepare 500 GW of Renewable Energy

China announced their plans to bring renewable energy sources within the next 10 years. In total, the country will generate renewable energy by 500 gigawatts in 2020.
Of the total, wind power is one of the most improved. From plans to produce 25 gigawatts of previously established, now the plan is upgraded to 150 gigawatts.

Apart from the wind, liquid fuel will also be encouraged. In 10 years, China will increase ethanol production from 2 million tonnes to 10 million tonnes and biodiesel expansion from 0.05 million tons to 2 million tons.

Currently, China has become a major leader in the field of solar-powered water heaters are installed in the ceiling. The country's government is now targeting to have a totall 300 million square meters of solar water heaters in homes. This figure is up 100 million square meters compared to 2006.

More details, 500 gigawatts of renewable electricity will come from hydro power by 300 gigawatts, of 150 gigawatts of wind power, biopower by 30 gigawatts and 20 gigawatts of solar power.

For comparison, the United States alone will only get the additional supply by 16 gigawatts of renewable energy after the proposed budget Recovery Act allocated an Obama administration is complete. Although renewable energy in the U.S. was doubled compared to the last 30 years, but the numbers may be much compared to the target made by China.

To be sure, quoted from WordlessTech, July 30, 2011, the plan of renewable energy in China is a very positive step. The reason, as is known, China is a country into a factory for the whole industry in the world. And if carbon emissions there could be suppressed, it is good news for the whole world.
